Kirovsk is located in the Murmansk region, in northwestern Russia, close to Finland and Norway. The nearest town is Apatity 16 km. The distance to Murmansk is 175 km. Population – 27 250. Now in Kirovsk there are three main skiing options: the City (Northern) slope of the Aikuayvenchorr mountain, the Aikuayvenchorr southern slope and the Kukisvumchorr mountain.
The southern slope is most interesting for beginners and the possibility of off-piste skiing. Good lighting along the slopes, snow cannons work, the terrain is not very interesting for advanced skiers. It takes about 20 minutes to get there by bus.
Mount Kukisvumchorr is also suitable for freeriding, while the city slope is more suitable for training and initial skiing. Of course, experienced lovers of ski slopes will also be interested in it, because it is here that the most interesting slopes and the most picturesque views. The popularity of the city slope is also influenced by the accessibility – 10-15 minutes to the ski lift.
The cost of ski passes is low compared to other resorts in the Russian Federation.
