Whether powder snow or crunchy firn when skiing in the sun – the slopes in Balderschwang offer pure pleasure on over 36 kilometers of slopes. This is also ensured by modern snow-making systems. Although Balderschwang is Germany’s most snow-sure ski area, our snowmaking system creates even better conditions. Should Frau Holle forget to shake her beds, Balderschwang is well prepared.

Modern and efficient – our snowmaking concept: snow made exclusively from water and air!

Our snowmaking systems come from the Swiss company Bächler, the market leader in the field of low-energy and low-noise snow lances, and are powered by snow cannons from Techno Alpin  and Sufag    supports. This means that we have one of the most modern facilities in Germany and can ensure optimal snow enjoyment on all main slopes and largely on all secondary routes throughout the entire ski season. The artificial white splendor is currently provided by more than 80 snow guns. The snowmaking water used in the Balderschwang ski area is always of drinking water quality. It is atomized into the finest particles by our snow-making lances and machines and transformed into first-class snow here in the Hochallgäu by the cold, mostly very dry ambient air. From early winter onwards, when temperatures are below zero, snow is regularly made in the ski area in order to be able to offer you an optimal basis for protecting the soil and optimal slope conditions at all times. They provide the energy Vorarlberg power plants from almost entirely renewable energies.
