One of the most famous places in the Philippines is called Baler, located in the province of Aurora. By plane to Manila and there are a lot of different options.
The province is named after the wife of President Manuel Cuazon. The province has 70% forest and 328 km of coastline yet to be explored.
Baler is the place where surfing in the Philippines was born. For the first time, members of the film crew of Apocalypse Now, Coppola, went surfing there. Subsequently, the participants left their staff to the local population.
Today Baler is called a surfer’s paradise.
There are many good spots available:
Sabang Beach – the waves on this spot are seasonal, the best period for skiing is from October to February. They are ideal for beginner surfers.
The wave is created by a sandy bottom, also suitable for regulars and goofies – that is, the waves of the right hand and left hand. The highest waves are from December to January.
Cemento Reef
This is a spot with a right-handed wave created by the reef. This place is NOT FOR BEGINNERS. Located 45 minutes walk south of Baler. Wave height reaches 4.5 meters at this spot
Charlie’s Point
Spot with left and right-handed waves. The wave is created by the sandy bottom. The very place where Apocalypse Now was filmed. Within walking distance from Baler.
