Ring winch
five-six-seven (depending on the length of the track) supports, spaced so that the cable stretched between them forms a ring.
6-10 people can work on the ring winch at the same time.
The ring winch has a launch pad and an operator who oversees the operation of the winch and the safety of participants on the water. The speed on the “loop” is constant and not very suitable for beginners, since there is no way to adjust the speed just for you.
If you do not know how to ride a wakeboard yet or have tried it several times, but are not very confident in riding and are having difficulty making turns on a reversible winch, then starting at the circuit may be for you adventure,
since the winch will not slow down to start your movement (as we said – the speed of the system is constant). In the event of a fall, the athlete must independently swim to the floating pontoons or to the shore and walk to the launch pad. In some cases, a fallen athlete is picked up on a boat and brought to the start.
What’s so good about a ring winch? No need to spend energy on turns – passing the supports is difficult
is for beginners only, professionals don’t notice this moment anymore. On the “ring” you can put a lot more different figures to perform tricks, forming the so-called “lines”, that is, leaving one figure, the athlete can enter another. And the consequence of this is that a more spectacular program can be shown on the ring winch in one lap, including flat tricks and jibbing. Plus, basically all ring winches have the same speed – about thirty kilometers per hour.
All this makes the ring winch optimal for competition, and therefore the majority of high-level wake competitions are held on the “ring”.
