As early as the 1920s, the Brauneck was described in newspaper articles with the headline “Skiing in the Lenggrieser mountains”. Today the Brauneck is a recreation and holiday area with an international reputation. Both skiers and mountain hikers will find a true mountain paradise in untouched nature, but with all sporting possibilities.

The cornerstone for our success was laid in 1952 and Brauneck Bergbahn GmbH Lenggries was founded. Soon after, the first gondolas of the cable car floated gently towards the summit and opened up the uniquely beautiful area for our guests from all over the world. Since its inception more than 50 years ago, the Brauneck Bergbahn can look back on a long and consistent success story.

In the ski area ( piste map ) everything is offered for beginners as well as experienced skiers: from easy and medium runs to the demanding World Cup run and the mogul slopes on the upper Garland. Everyone will find their favorite route here. At the Brauneck, it’s the mixture that makes the difference: Varied runs exist here alongside flat practice slopes and black World Cup slopes. It is also this versatility that makes Brauneck the ideal family ski area. Because everyone gets their money’s worth here.

In the Lenggrieser mountains, families with children appreciate not only the numerous easy and intermediate runs, but also the three children’s areas where the youngsters can make their first turns under the expert supervision of the local ski schools. Youngsters are in good hands in the KinderSkiZirkus Villa Lustig on the Jauden- and in the KinderSchneeLand on the Draxlhang. Skiing and snowboarding is taught here in a child-friendly, professionally versed and fun way. The little ones can be happily transported up the mountain on comfortable carpet and rope lifts. Another children’s area is run by the ski school of ex-ski racer Michi Gerg, directly at the valley station of the Brauneck cable car. Michi Gerg is not the only sports celebrity from Lenggries.
